How to Talk To Your Kids When the World Feels Scary

A news paper with the word news on it

A few weeks ago I was on a call and the parent that I was talking to just keep repeating,

"I don't even know what to say to my kids. My wife and I, we were talking about this yesterday. Like, what do we even tell them about all the crazy things that are going on right now?"

He's not the only one I've been coaching through this.

Maybe you're in this place too, wondering what exactly to say to your kids about all the crazy things going on in the world right now.

If so, please join me for a free online call next week where I'm going to talk about exactly this.

I'm even breaking it down by age group.

We'll have one session for parents of preteens and teens, and one for parents of younger kids. (Because, while the concepts are the same across age groups, the application is a bit different depending on your kids ages.)

We'll talk about

  • How to talk about hard world events without amplifying fear
  • Why regulating yourself first changes everything
  • How to shift from helplessness to agency
  • How to give your kids small stories of courage they can hold onto

This won’t be fear-based.
It won’t be political.
It won’t be overwhelming
.

By the end you will know the single most important thing you need for any topic your child asks you about.

If this is something you've been struggling with recently, I hope you'll join me next week.

With love,

Carrien
